is a European product-technology company that develops and scales online marketplaces. They connect consumers with reliable local service providers and help businesses acquire new customers through digital channels.
Since October 2018, SharpMinds has supported Skydreams with an embedded development team that works directly within Skydreams’ product and engineering organization.
The work
As Skydreams’ digital products evolved, a need arose for additional engineering capacity that could scale alongside the product organization while remaining closely integrated with internal teams.
This requirement went beyond simply placing individual developers. Skydreams sought developers who could work within existing development processes, understand the product and business context, become increasingly autonomous, and retain accumulated product knowledge as the organization evolved.
SharpMinds therefore supports Skydreams with recruitment, team scaling, and HR and retention support. Skydreams retains control over product priorities, technical direction, development quality, planning, and daily delivery. SharpMinds provides the Team Lead as part of the engineering team and manages the people, staffing, and continuity aspects of the collaboration.
The dedicated SharpMinds team
The engineers are directly embedded in Skydreams' product organization and collaborate with the Product Manager, UX, CTO, and other technical and business stakeholders. As the partnership grew, the team evolved beyond individual implementation tasks; engineers provided by SharpMinds now support multiple teams within the organization.
The team
Long-term stability is one of the key strengths of this collaboration. The partnership has been ongoing for nearly eight years, and one engineer has been continuously involved in the project since its inception in October 2018. Over that period, he advanced from Developer to Team Lead, becoming a reliable source of technical leadership, product knowledge, and continuity within the SharpMinds team.
SharpMinds handles recruitment and replacement whenever staffing changes occur. New engineers are onboarded with the support of existing team members as well as product and technical stakeholders. This established team structure helps preserve accumulated knowledge and minimizes disruption during team transitions.
